Students who go drinking night before 'don't get lower exam marks'

Students who binge drink the night before exams do not end up with lower marks, a surprise report showed yesterday.

Experiments showed booze did not hit long-term memory or affect recently learned material although it did slow reaction times and worsen mood states.

Prof Jonathan Howland, who led the project in Boston, Mass, said: "The team was surprised by the results as some earlier studies found occupational performance was impaired the day after intoxication."
